Dance and the visually impaired? Seems impossible right?
At Niwant, we encourage student to take up various fields of arts and craft which include dancing and music.
Have Feet, Will Dance academy run by Shiamak Davar (famous Indian choreographer) sends choreographers to teach students at NAMV how to dance. This gives them a feel of movements like that they have never felt before and frees their bodies from stiffness.
Now students at Niwant who have learned from these choreographers are employed to teach their juniors. The way these students pick up rhythm and make synchronized movements in a group is quite a spectacle.
Visually Impaired are known to have exceptional music sense and students at NAMV are no exception to that. They play every instrument that you can think of and hence have their own orchestra.
This orchestra has performed more than 50 enthralling stage shows.
